Case Study

Solve cases that matter!

28th of February

TBA

EBEC Case Study is a competition that puts the innovativeness, creativity and soft skills of teams of four participants to the test. In only four hours, you need to come up with a solution, propose a plan, evaluate the feasibility and present it in front of a jury of experts. In this competition, teams of four students gather to provide a solution to a technical or a management problem provided by our two case study partners. Mostly this is a genuine realistic problem which needs to be tackled by consultants or corporate clients. But first and foremost, it will be an exciting experience based on fun, creativity, and friendship.

Case Studies from previous years included a task about implementing blockchain in the food/fashion industry, developing a solution for waste management for a specific country/location, or creating a business development plan for an electric car company in the region. There can be a variety of topics, but we will provide you with enough information and document before the presentation. You don’t need to be an expert!

You can register as a single participant or as a team of 4 students. Since the competition is team based, you will be assigned to another team of participants.
We want to encourage multidisciplinary and international cooperation, so we will try to create the most diverse team possible.

Nope. Participation is completely FREE.

Yes, the participants of the winning team will receive a price and they will have the chance to participate in the national round for free: the EBEC Benelux Case Study Competition.

You will receive a confirmation email after you register via the link at the end of this webpage. You will also receive some emails regarding the task and the event in the weeks before the event, to keep you informed!

No. You can apply to the competition with two other friends and a make a 3-people team. However, the organization will add an extra member to complete the 4-people team, because all the teams must be composed of 4 people.

Team Design

Build your Prototype!

29th of February 2020

Stichting Leren Doen

EBEC Team Design is a competition that puts the ingenuity, dexterity and efficiency of teams of four participants to the test. In only four hours, you design, build and test a prototype that satisfies a given problem that can range from safely launching a fragile payload (such as an egg) on a rocket to building a moveable bridge. In order to do this, you will have to use a limited amount of basic materials (metal, magnets, nails, duct tape…) and tools (glue gun, saw, drill…) in a resourceful way. Your final product will be evaluated by a panel of experts, who will judge its originality, performance and other characteristics. EBEC Team Design will push each team to the limit when working with a limited amount of time and with limited resources. But first and foremost, it will be an exciting experience based on fun, creativity, and friendship.

Team Design from previous years required participants to build a prototype of a small industrial machinery (pumps, lifts), vehicles or small turbines. From dynamics to statics, from programming to designing, the competition is not about being and expert in what you are doing, but developing new skills and being creative during the process.

You can register as a single participant or as a team of 4 students. Since the competition is team based, if you register alone we will assign you to a team. We want to encourage multidisciplinary and international cooperation, so we will attempt to create the most diverse team possible.

Nope. Participation is completely FREE.

Yes, the participants of the winning team will receive a bike provided by Leren Doen and coupons and discounts to use in their bike shop, plus they will have the chance to participate in the national round for free: the EBEC Benelux Case Study Competition.
